Looking beyond myself

The problem with me reflecting on creativity: too much boring introspection.

One of the people I get to work with is an incredible musician, and spends her life using that creative talent to run community music projects in the area. Like the community choir for people with long-term health problems…GPs actually refer people to the choir. What I love most about what is happening with the projects is that it is the kind of creativity that inspires people to be better versions of themselves, to respond more creatively to the issues facing their communities.  For example, figuring out how to respond to the ostracism and abuse given to a transgender member of the choir.

Talent that looks beyond itself – that’s what I find inspirational, because it leads to such beautiful creative responses in community.
